Dart Chiostro del Bramante is the institution managing the museum and multi-function area of the Chiostro del Bramante.
The mission of the institution has always been to make the Chiostro a space open to the public and to offer a comprehensive range of cultural services and options for social meetings.
It began with the restoration of the Chiostro or cloister, which was completed in 1997 and followed by the renovation of the building's three floors. The renovation work restored the edifice – designed by Donato Bramante around the year 1500 – to its original splendour. Large areas originally part of the convent were restored and opened up to the public, as was the case with the portico on the ground floor, the open gallery on the first floor, the rooms and halls now housing the exhibits, and the various meeting and social function areas, equipped with services such as a reception desk, cafeteria, bistro, bookshop, and museum store.
Since the renovation work was completed, Dart management has been promoting the Chiostro del Bramante both as part of a broader attempt to foster the knowledge of art and in the context of national and international relations. The operations framework of Dart consists of various specialized sectors, each focusing on one of the areas of interest to the institution: the promotion and organization of wide-ranging exhibitions, the management and setting up of events, and the extensive furnishing of cultural services.
Each sector has its own managerial and executive staff, which liaises both with the people working in its field, and with the public, by drawing upon the help of curators, experts and collaborators in each field.
