The Casa dei Teatri (‘Theatres’ House’), located in the historic Villino Corsini in Villa Pamphilj, presents itself as a project dedicated to live performances in a multidisciplinary perspective that combines study and training paths with those of the “doing” and “seeing” a show.
The Biblioteca della Casa dei Teatri (‘Theatres’ House Library’), highly specialized, houses the Giancarlo Sbragia estate, which boasts a valuable historical heritage of material for scholars of live performances.
The Casa dei Teatri also houses the Biblioteche del Cinema Umberto Barbaro (‘Umberto Barbaro Movie Libraries’): books, journals and magazines, film screenplays, never-seen-before stories and scripts for films and a large photo archive.
On 8th March 2012 the Scuderie della Casa dei Teatri was opened, a multipurpose facility located on the side of the Villino for the promotion of theatre culture, for research and reflection regarding scenic creation. The space is used for theatrical performances, workshops, conferences, readings and other live show events and also carries out an activity related to the run of the adjacent Casa dei Teatri.
