In the second half of the twentieth century The Living Theatre has invented a new way for the theatre to be present in the society. A living example of the relations between theatrical upheavals and political rebellion, the art of theatre as an experience of the meeting between the community of actors and audience.
Images of the Living Theatre offers a route of some key-moments in the history of the group founded by Julian Beck and Judith Malina, favoring a rare library of images and including a series of original drawings by Julian Beck.
The project is aimed to young artists, students and all those who want to discover one of the sources of the existence of the theatre in the contemporary society.
"Images of the Living Theatre" is a project of the Department of Communication and Performance of University Roma Tre (Stefano Geraci and Raimondo Guarino) in collaboration with the Library of Arts of the University of Roma Tre and the Fondazione Pontedera Teatro.
