Contemporary arts of the XX and XXI century
Giuseppe Tabacco's installation is designed in four parts in a real symbiosis with the space in which it is situated.
Tabacco follows the fundamental rhythms of the octagonal church of Santa Rita: the horizontal one that bends the walls in concave apses and the one, ascending to the top, intrinsic to central plan building.
Two large paintings fosuc the attention on the cavity of the niches doubling its space, overcoming every formalism in a condition of suspension and allusiveness.
Other two works direct towards a baroque spatial expansion. A carpet of roses repeats the octagonal plant of the dome, in reference to the centuries-old tradition to give blessed roses to the faithful during the feast of Santa Rita.
Giuseppe Tabacco (Rome 1956) exhibits since 1989. Over the years he has participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions and in interdisciplinar and cultural initiatives in public and private institutions.
The exhibition is curated by Raffaella Rinaldi
